Baka Books community library drive

Students in Fiji’s remote and maritime regions face significant educational hurdles, including inadequate library collections and limited access to digital learning tools. This resource gap directly impacts literacy levels and long-term academic success.

Baka Books aims to help bridge this gap by leveraging our passionate community of readers. We are inviting individuals and groups to pledge to support the distribution of new and high-quality second-hand books.

Expert Curation: Baka Books will use its expertise to select and curate book parcels tailored to the specific needs of each requesting school. All parcels will include books by local authors as well as high-quality international publications.

Logistics & Delivery: To ensure these books reach their destination, Baka Books will cover all costs related to postage and delivery to these remote locations.

How to Participate:

  • In-Store Pledges: Visit us at 23 MacGregor Road, Suva, to purchase a new and/or second-hand book for donation to the school of your choice, or a school we are liaising with.
  • Group Pledges: Organise a fundraiser within your office, social club, or family, and we will curate a large-scale donation in your group’s name based on the funds you raise.

Help us to ensure that children in Fiji, regardless of their location, will have the opportunity to Read, Explore, and Talanoa!
