50 Glimpses of Fiji

“I often sit on my veranda and look down across the lush shrubbery to the city of Suva and the blue ocean beyond, and ask myself, ‘what is it about Fiji that makes it so different to anywhere else? Why do I feel so secure and comfortable in this remote island nation? What is so special about it?’

Over the past 100 years, thousands of books, reports and specialized studies have been published about Fiji and its people, and are stored in libraries, archives and personal collections in Fiji and around the world. Over the years, like many others, I have acquired publications about Fiji that were of interest to me and I now have a modest collection. These are of value to me because, in a sense, they form a record of the times in which I have lived in Fiji.
